Susan Murphey BS, RDMS, RDCS, CECD

Ms. Murphey is the president of Essential WorkWellness, a healthcare ergonomics consulting firm. Recently Susan was named the 2011 Ergonomics Professional of the Year by the Puget Sound Chapter of the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society. She is a Certified Ergonomic Compliance Director, holds a bachelor's degree in clinical ultrasound and certification as an Ergonomics Evaluation Specialist. Susan provided testimony during the 2000 and 2001 OSHA hearings on occupational ergonomics on behalf of diagnostic medical sonographers; she was also content expert and session chair of the 2003 Consensus Conference, and instrumental in the writing of the Industry Guidelines for the Prevention of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders for Sonography. She is past President of the Puget Sound Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (PSHFES) and led the PSHFES Technically Cool Computing program, which resulted in the development of a children’s computer ergonomics training program.
